Take Profit

TP · target

DefinitionA price level where a winning trade is closed, usually at the next level price has to deal with.

A Take Profit closes the trade in your favour at a level decided in advance. A good target sits before the next real obstacle: a previous high or low, a resistance or support zone, or an untested order block.

Targets set by hope (a round number far away, a percentage) are reached less often than the risk-to-reward suggests. The ratio only means something if the target is a level price can realistically reach.
